So 1.2 billion spent this window, 1.4 billion last summer by my calculations that is a 15% drop off.
Excluding the Cheats extravagance of 220m from this window to do a fair comparison as they had transfer ban last summer.
Would make it approx 30% drop off!
Considering how year on year there has always been a significant increase on spending, it would seem Covid-19 has had quite a big impact on clubs spending This summer.
Our board will be mightily pleased as they have made a tidy profit and saved on wages.
No drop off on transfers and no clubs gone Covid bust. Fact.

Surely if "no drop off on transfers" and yet the total spent is lower , doesn't that show that clubs didn't spend as much on individual players which is what the debate was about ?

I have already congratulated you on the transfer money being spent, but Club going bust in the EFL is another matter..We will see in July..Like I said,if NO club goes bust in the EFL or even PL,by that time,I will send you a crate of beer.

I wish I was wrong about transfer spend as it should have been a reality check.
Clubs going bust, let's see.
They will only go bust if creditors suddenly demand their money. There are a multitude of companies in this country who owe far more than they are worth which as far as I'm concerned means they are bust but they continue to trade with a massive debt. Water boards are a prime example. So I would imagine football clubs will continue along the same route unless their revenues or bail outs cease.

No drop off ? 20bn less than last season with Chelsea now allowed to make transfers.

So 15% reduction from previous year is not a drop off? First time it has been below previous year total spent since PL started and that is not a drop off?
Would like to meet your accountant fuckwit.
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.
FACT
The football clubs are looking for cash grants from the Government so they have purposely underplayed the actual figures spent.
The actual amount spent was between £1.4 - 1.5 billion.
