It's not just politicians that have competency failings. Look at this from PHE
[A Public Health England (PHE) source said the risk cited by Ferguson was “very much our understanding”. They added: “It means that we are going to have to be careful about the reopening. Overall, though, we must really bear in mind the harms caused to children by not going back to school and, at a population scale, this may well be much larger than that of Covid.”]
So in what way, is it more harmful at a population scale, to keep children off school than contracting Covid.
Schools were closed for the very reason to keep children away from contagion and becoming part of the transmission cycle.Because the world had declared a pandemic and fighting it became the number #1 priority for all countries.
Now if PHE said they think the risk can be managed etc and gave some guideline on how this would operate then people would broadly support the initiative But they didn't because they can't. Exactly the same risk now as then, when closures
But they can't say that,so they say: it's more harmful to not risk getting the virus than getting the virus. Brilliant...you can see why their top of the class
Thing is like it or not it's tied in with getting the Economy moving along again...we need people back to work...apart from
working itself to drive things on,but subsequently spending money....train fares, petrol, coffee shops..etc..
The Kids being back allows and makes things a lot easier for the majority for this to happen.
But Yet ANOTHER Prob to this is...some Schools could be fine....have the structure/buildings/space in place to make it safe,
others don't, it could be nigh on impossible....like keep saying ..there's thousands of different scenarios for each action we
take...some it will work for, others it wont...there just ISN'T a one fix for everyone...we can only do what hopefully suits
the Majority...and trust in people to use common sense...if you can open safely open..if you can't...don't.
And not using the blame game and calling People incompetent when they are trying their best in an unbelievable situation..
We are "Trying" to open up things when we have more or as many cases than when we shut down, and we have a bush fire
of it worldwide..which maybe is only just starting to peak..sounds utter madness...logically...but what else can we do....
Corvid Hopefully is a short term thing...another 18 months we'll have it under...we have to think of it's effects long term
now,and take that into account.
