Apparently the Chess World has been rocked by the Word Champion, some Norwegian bloke, accusing someone he recently played of cheating.. I want to know how it is possible to actually do this. Did he lean across the board when his opponent wasn't looking and nick one of his pawns ? Or did he surrepticiously push a knight onto a different square.? Clearly chess could do with the introduction of it's own VAR system to ensure such shenanighans are nipped in the bud. Obviously the delay in resolving such issues could ruin the game as a spectacle as fans of the players will not be able to cheer and chant until a move (I think the chess lot call them gambits btw) has been scrutinised by the adjudicators, although it must be hoped such a delay would not totally destroy the atmosphere and excitement.
But seriously. How is it possible to cheat at the bloody game.?
