What an icon he played on my life during the 60s and 70s as a child.

Sadly Bernard has died aged 93....

Mostly famous for playing in the TV series Dr Who and a couple of films they did during the 60s.

His other roles include:

The Wombles
Carry On films
Jackanory
Faulty Towers: Hotel Inspectors(spoon salesman)
The Railway Children and many many more

He also had a couple of hits too!

RIP Bernard, your legacy will live on.

The Wombles, Jackanory and that fawlty towers episode is what remember him for. He was big time when I was a kid

A lovely and funny man ,another part of my childhood gone.
An ex Para too who always spoke fondly and proudly about the regiment.
