Decent batting display today, if we can get past the new ball tomorrow, things could turn interesting. Malan and Root have done well (so far) and Hameed looks to be a proper opener who was unlucky to get strangled out. Possibly the biggest bonus appears to be that Stokes didn't injure his knee badly when he tripped on the boundary rope earlier in the test, judging by the way he warmed up at the start of the day.
