We’d never be able to sellCarroll...I can’t honestly see us commanding any sort of fee...it’s probably been true for a couple of years now...it’s a bit like us taking a chance with jack wilshire...only worth it on a free and tbh that was a risk (people differ on the jack wilshire risk/ reward scale). It would just be a case of ripping up his contract and paying him off.
Again like Reid, it’s a typical west ham fortunes always hiding shame. I feel I might have seen Carroll at his best that first year at the OS when he got a decent run together and probably was a big part of that run that saw us win enough points to keep us up. He really showed what might have been. I’ve bared witness to him looking a very good player, but it’s been so, so, so very bitey and stop start and I think if 100 people were given the chance to go back in time and block the transfer 95 of them would.
