Amazing Statistic

Whatever any of us think about Manchester United and the hype they get I've just read an article which, frankly, left me totally gobsmacked. It seems that since 1937 they have played 4,208 games (Yes, OK, some people have too much time on their hands) and in EVERY one of those matches there has been at least one player who has come through their youth system in their matchday squad. That is bloody amazing imo and one thing the club can pat themselves on the back about.

We used to have a decent number coming through back in the not too dim and distant. The 85/86 squad (our best ever imo) had Alvin Martin, George Parris, Alan Dickens and Tony Cottee plus Alan Devonshire who we picked up from non league. They were all pretty much regulars. And Geoff Pike made a few appearances too as I recall. That's more than half the team which isn't too shabby.

Yeah we used to be good at it back in the day, also good with Tony Carr in charge of the kids. Since he was let go we’ve been a pretty crap academy bar the odd one or two.

This current batch is the best for many years. We've just got to hope they;re handled properly and eventually make it through into the first team.

I think they will make it to the 1st team……for a different team. Not here under Moyes. He’s too chicken shit to chance them

Bit unfair that, comparing McCuntybollocks to a chicken turd.
I mean what's the chicken done to deserve that!
