They certainly know how to suck the life out of football don't they.
You just have to hope that one day (sooner rather than later hopefully) these cunts will be gone. And finally just maybe this club of ours can move forward.
We would be laughing our bollox off if it were the spuds, it's like reading a comedy, unfortunately it's us and one that actually started a season and a half ago.
You ain’t wrong. I’m not past caring but I am growing numb and deaf towards all the politics coz it’s just so bloody ridiculous. Like you, I see no change or end to it all until both are gone. Nothing we can say will change it. I will just wait but I won’t hold my breathBrookbonds73 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 11:20 pm

Couldn't agree more , but for some ridiculous reason I still can't wait for the season to start .JayK wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 9:32 amYou ain’t wrong. Far be it from me to remotely defend the obnoxious short arsed little porn baron, however I can't bring myself to criticise asnyone for throwing in a lowball offer to test the water. In any case I would argue that £20 million for Ward-Prowse is not the "insulting offer" it is reported to have been. And is it anyone's fault other than Manchester United if they massively overpaid for Maguire ?andyginbrasil wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 3:19 pmThis about sums it uppalerider wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2023 10:19 am
My take on it....
We've signed nobody. The season is two weeks away and there's a good chance we'll have the same start to it as last year because of Moyes and the lack of new blood. If he wants JWP just offer a sensible fee as he'll need at least that time to gel with the squad. It's all very well playing hardball but this should have been done weeks ago. We're getting desperate.
And the fact JWP is included in today's Saints squad against AZ proves they're not just rolling over. There was a suggestion that him being left out against Bournemouth the other day was a 'sign'.
So in a roundabout answer to your question, no, not 50m of course but 27m plus 3m add ons would to me have been a good starting place and should have been offered as soon as the window opened. We knew Rice was leaving.
“History shows West Ham have a tendency of making underwhelming opening offers and that is continuing this summer, a case in point being the £20m offer for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse, which was rejected out of hand.”
