June 7th

Post by palerider »

It's written in the stars. Apart from it being the birthday of Tom Jones, Liam Neeson and Bear Grylls, here are some events in history also on that day foretelling our triumph in Prague.

1099 The siege of Jerusalem begins in the 1st Crusade.
1692 Port Royal, the decadent and notorious pirate city in Jamaica is destroyed by an earthquake.
1788 Day of the Tiles. Citizens lob tiles on to Royalist troops during the French Revolution.
1971 The US Supreme Court overturns the conviction of Paul Cohen stating that vulgar writing must be defended by the First Amendment.
2020 One of my local haunts begins serving behind locked doors during covid. And gets away with it.

So there you have it. No need to turn up. Give us the cup now.

Not forgetting of course 1982 when Priscilla Presley opened Gracelands to the public which of course is all a big con as Elvis is still alive and running the Coach and Horses in Sutton Scotney, occasionally taking the mic on Karaoke Nights to belt out Burning Love accompanied by his pet parrot Cecil.

Thangyaverymuch.

Was keen to ask where everyone is planning to watch?

We are not keen on watching in pubs round our way....be great to be with a big WHU crowd.

Was hoping on the suggestion of a fan park style event at the ground but hearing the club can't get that off the ground cos of the stadium being converted for Baseball?!!!....and they can't hold it within the Olympic Park as we don't actually own any of it!! (could that be any more West Hamish?!!)

We must be the only club in the country that make a Euro final and the powers that be can't make any decent arrangements for the fans ffs.

Also hear that the fan park event at Hackney Wick is a sell out.

Anyone know any alternatives?!
