I was at Wrexham AND Newport as well mate so we’ve seen a lot more shit over the years than a lot of people realise
Indeed we have.
Another particular shit night was at QPR in the cup losing 6-1. Rained all night, pitch like a swamp. Got fucking drenched.
Only saving grace was a relatively short journey home.

Strangely enough though Tim, following us around the country in those days was a very enjoyable experience. People today would suggest that we needed therapy!
Even though you were herded like cattle from stations to grounds, the terraces were shit, the food then would probably make today's fans puke, it was a great time for most and we followed our club no matter what.
I miss those days.
Yep Lacey’s coaches , Irons travel club football specials where you was lucky if there was a khazi on board , as you say herded like cattle amid a hail of house bricks and bottled piss .
You couldn’t beat it
Bring back Jonathon !

Walk back to station from Filbert street was a bit tasty as I recall, and that was with a police escort. 😂😂
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

Let's spin a positive on this thread.

I remember us beating Arsenal 3-2 at Highbury in 1982 in the pissing rain.

Then came the luxury of the Persil tickets.

Trainspotters used to come in for some fearful stick as I recall.

And let's not forget the plod spotters at the mainline London stations who used to walk around and ask you if you supported West Ham 😂

Not me mate I'm off to Manchester to an Eccles cake exhibition 😂😂😂.
