I was seriously considering going to see Exeter this afternoon. Never been before. Tickets available and cheap enough. But in the end I couldn't be arsed.

I thought Wrexham and Newport were shite nights until I went there that night. That fucking Axminster of a pitch still haunts me.

I was at Wrexham AND Newport as well mate so we’ve seen a lot more shit over the years than a lot of people realise
Indeed we have.
Another particular shit night was at QPR in the cup losing 6-1. Rained all night, pitch like a swamp. Got fucking drenched.
Only saving grace was a relatively short journey home.
Strangely enough though Tim, following us around the country in those days was a very enjoyable experience. People today would suggest that we needed therapy!
Even though you were herded like cattle from stations to grounds, the terraces were shit, the food then would probably make today's fans puke, it was a great time for most and we followed our club no matter what.
I miss those days.
