One can hope, but I’ve always maintained that his growth will exceed our clubs and an improvement to crack the spots between 10-7 ain’t going to keep him here long term. Can we realistically get CL football within 3 seasons? I seriously doubt it unless there’s a massive injection of cash, so that puts us on a longer timeframe to attempt this lofty goal & one that I don’t feel a 25 yr old Rice will be with us for. Still hope he’s the last of this sort & love that his committed to us in the short term. Maybe Noble is his ear is having an effect too!
I think the chances of any "non elite" club reaching the CL places is as much to do with what they do as it is with everyone else tbh. Obviously you are correct about investment being necessary but the way Manchester United are carrying on at present has me wondering if they'll finish in the top half, never mind the top 6. As someone pointed out on a thread recently Alderweireld, Vertonghen & Eriksen are all out of contract at Spurs in the summer and if Chelsea drop out of the CL spots, quite likely with their transfer ban, they could find it difficult, particularly if the continuing rumours about Abramovich wanting to sell are true. Although of course that could work to their advantage if a member of the Saudi royal family decides he'd like a new toy.
Amazing insight into why Rice needs to leave.

imagine going into your job every fucking day when at one stage, everything whilst not outstanding, was 'ok' .... followed by best part of a year of outdated clueless plan-less bollocks, whilst the boss isn't motivating anybody. personally or on a business/results front .... your patience would break, many a lot earlier than now

i wish him well at probably man utd, they need him the most and have the £££
Yeah must be fucking awful going into work and getting paid a fortune for playing football and working for 3 hours each day. Poor dear, my heart goes out to him.

I'd have thought that until Man U signed Casemiro, not sure they need someone like DR as a priority now. Imo the club that he would be ideally suited to is Barcelona,as Busquets replacement, but because of their financial issues there's not much chance of that happening unless they can do a bit more financial juggling.

Let's hope all this Rice bashing coming from so many pundits of late works in our favour , and the boy stays . Due to the fact so many of them are now saying , " he ain't worth upwards of £50m " . Though I doubt very much will get the £120m + addons the club want , but you never know , especially considering it was reported that Man Ure bid £100m last summer , and the club turned it down   , yeah sure .

It's all an agenda. The likes of Gary Neville, Paul Merson, Danny Murphy, have club interests that dictate their own clubs get him on the cheap.

Two washed-up arsewipes and a washed-up wino. Fuck them and all who sail in them. Stick to 100m and not a penny less.
