Interesting times ahead, it now seems obvious that Moyes is unfortunately staying, even after our extremely uninspiring start to the campaign.
After the International break we have 55 days until the WC break.
In that time we have 8 league games,( 9 if the Newcastle game is re- scheduled, 1 Micky mouse cup game and 4 ECL games.
We need to forget the game against Blackburn if we win it all well and good, loose it, it won't be the be all and end all.
ECL matches we have Anderlecht next two matches, we need at least 2 draws, they will be difficult to beat. It is imperative that we finish top of the group second place is an extra game, playoff against a Europa League reject.
But most important, the league......4 points from 7 games.
The next 8 games will be make or break for us, we need a bare minimum of 1.5 points per game that will give us a grand total of 16 points going into the break. Still relegation material. Unfortunately, 3 of those 8 games are against Liverpool, a rapidly improving Man U and deservedly, current league leaders Arsenal. We will need a vast improvement in our game to get 4.5 points off those 3.
Are you worried yet...
Now if Popeye carries on with his predictable tactics and team selection on present form we will only pick up 4-6 points, but I think and hope we can do a little better than that.
Now that Popeye is staying, at least until the WC break if we are in a relegation battle, which I predict that we will be for most of the season, who the fuck would want to take over.
Unless things vastly improve I fear we are in for a grim time this season but to be perfectly fair I did mention this before the season started so it is no surprise to me.
And a mention to our away supporters..... don't worry everything is tickety-boo
