The Europa League is not worth a rub of soap.terrya1965 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:46 amSo you thinks it's an under achievement by our Football Club to be playing in the Europa League then?
You set your standards high, don't you?
Off course we laughed at them, and still do.
I for one am very pleased that finishing 6th in the prem last season, above Tottenham and Arsenal, means we get to play in a European competition, that hopefully we put the required amount of effort into and will help the club to experience the rigours of playing in a European competition, whilst having to maintain domestic responsibilities.terrya1965 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:46 amSo you thinks it's an under achievement by our Football Club to be playing in the Europa League then?

Me too . Can’t see the point in not taking it seriously so that we can concentrate on the league and try to qualify for , er , the Europa League.Ironworksfc wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 11:03 amI for one am very pleased that finishing 6th in the prem last season, above Tottenham and Arsenal, means we get to play in a European competition, that hopefully we put the required amount of effort into and will help the club to experience the rigours of playing in a European competition, whilst having to maintain domestic responsibilities.terrya1965 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:46 am

Not only does it raise the profile of the club being in the Europa League and adding the possibility of attracting better players, but also if it is taken seriously, and I mean looking to win the matches, brings a financial gain to the club as well, obviously not as big as the champions League but still worthwhile.Newmarket wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 1:15 pmMe too . I don't particularly like the set up of the Europa League.I much preferred it in it's old format, knock out and jeopardy from the start than the League format. The introduction of the 3rd places losers from the CL has well is absolutely ludicrous in my book.9898 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:47 amThe Europa League is not worth a rub of soap.terrya1965 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:46 am

EVERY club sees it as a hindrance.
