Premier League TV rights: Broadcasters agree to roll over existing deal

Post by terrya1965 »

Does anybody else think like me if there was a bidding war,the price bid for the rights would have been a lot LOWER? Is this the reason why the deal was done like this?

I am sure if they thought they'd get a bigger cut,it wouldn't have happened like this?

These particular tv companies have effectively turned it into a monopoly but I’m sure that if the PL felt there was a possibility of an even bigger bid from a new source they would have gone for it .

Personally I don’t give a fuck as I won’t be subscribing to any of it anyway.

I doubt Sky/BT would agree. Otherwise I'm sure they would have encouraged a new auction in the belief they would pay less for the rights.

Must admit I thought it was a strange decision by the broadcasters as I am inclined towards your way of thinking about the price.
Why Is There Only One Monopolies Commission. Isn't That A Monopoly?
