Keep on practising mate, that`s what you were bought for, not your footballing talent.

I must admit I thought JWP was outstanding on Sunday and not just for this set pieces.

He has majorly surprised me with his overall passing and also his work rate.

Absolute bargain for £30 million in todays market.

And how was he not MOTM on Sunday too ?

Maybe because of Areola's performance ? Although JWP did have a very good game.

Coufal was given motm at stadium, presumably by the match sponsor? Areola was the Sky choice?
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

Doesn’t seem to need much practising to me tbh course he was bought for that as a main threat in his game no problem with that to me.
It’s paying dividends.

Re: welcome to the club JWP

It was on another thread that I was eating humble pie .
I had never seen JWP as anything more than a one trick pony but he’d impressed me in the first 5 or 6 games of the season enough to admit on this forum that I was wrong and that he looked like being a decent buy , his all round play being a lot more than just a set piece specialist .

However over the last few games , including last weekend with his 2 assists from corners , I’ve not seen that level of performance.
Yes that was a fantastic pass to Paqueta for the goal last week vs Olympiakos but other than that Im once again having real difficulty seeing what he brings to the table outside of his corner delivery .

It looks a bit like he and Alvarez have been instructed to swap positions , the Mexican doing the pressing and attempting (poorly) the getting forward and supplying the ammo for the front 4 .
Prowse is no DM and yet …..
So please , once again , can somebody enlighten me to exactly what JWP does apart from taking a good corner ?
Bring back Jonathon !
