That was like a Cup Tie played in the 1970s.

It was just our luck it pissed down all night.

The pitch was a leveler for Stockport.I don`t think I have seen us play on a pitch that bad for quite a few year.

We stuck at it and got through and that`s all that matters.

Shout out to Noble, who was one of our better players.

Since the PL arrived the standard of pitches in the top division has been so better that surfaces like that are such a leveller.

Man City have a pitch on the Etihad complex that they can replicate to the conditions of their next away fixture but even they'd have been struggling unless they moved it into the Manchester Ship Canal.

Credit to Stockport though. Never resorted to kicking us like Wimbledon did when they beat us.

The pitch ? , we are playing football not snooker .
Is there any point in being pedantic? I'm just stating a fact that the pitch is terrible and not easy to play on, making it difficult to control the ball and judge the length of the pass. Are you therefore telling me that the awful playing surface had no part whatsoever for our players to get anything going? As well as a mixture of playing badly in parts of course. A better pitch and I'm confident we would have had a better game.

Games like this you need your flair players to step up, Lanzini, benrahma, Yarmolenko and Antonio have been woeful.
What flair does Antonio actually have , Benrahma does not impress me at all ( thought he was meant to be something special ) , Yarmolenko has a left foot but nothing else and Lanzini is working hard but without much movement around him . We lack pace in mind and body in every department and that is the problem .
Well flair in respect no one knows what he will do next, including himself.
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

Fuck me, the negativity

We played a low league side that put their everything into killing off a premier league side, on a pitch that resembled a swimming pool in some parts.

We won FFS

All jokes aside, we won and that's the main thing, no disrespect to Doncaster, but we should beat them as well, before inevitably bowing out to one of the favourites for the competition.
I'd much prefer us winning 1-0 than the other way round. Keeps non Hammers traps shut.
Love a cup of Rosey I do.
