I had one. Was a drive through thingy. People say it's horrible and uncomfortable but I didn't have an issue with it. Came back all clear though which was lucky coz I was due to start work for the 1st time since beginning of march so couldn't really afford it to be positive 😂
A drive through? Like McDonalds? ;)

Where was that mate? How did you organise it?
😂
Was just a car park in Basildon behind the train station. All a military operation with literally the army there coordinating it and guiding ya through the steps. Swab one tonsil for 10 seconds, then the other, then ran it up ya nose. All DIY.
I just went on the government site. Got results back in under 24hrs.

A mate of mine who had the test (positive) said it wasn't very nice.
It is possible I done it wrong of course coz it was DIY rather than someone else more trained in the arts doing it but feel ok 🤷🏻‍♂️

You have got to be kidding. Mire and more younger people are affected by this. It is extremely niaive to suggest it is only or mainly old people.
There doesn't seem to be much evidence here in the UK that the young are badly affected by it. The consensus seems to be that ethnic groups are the worst affected. The perception here still appears to be that, whilst it is accepted that anybody can catch the virus and, of course, carry it, younger people seem less seriously affected by it.

That said there is so much conflicting information, even from within the scientific community, I'm not sure anyone really knows.

And as an aside I assume on your side of the pond that senator or congressman, think he is from Kansas, who advocated re opening pretty much everything because the only people likely to die from catching it were the "economically inactive" ?
It has just been reported that over half of the corona cases in newly locked down Preston are under 30.

Whilst not in the U.K. a 7 year old boy in Georgia, with no underlying health conditions has just died.

To suggest that this does not really affect young people is a dangerous fallacy.

I have not see the comments from the Senator you refer to. Quite frankly such comments are ignorant to say the least. It would be an incredibly smart virus to target just those that are retired or unemployed. I would bet he or she is a Republican. Uncle Donald claims that we have the virus under control, notwithstanding the fact that 2,000 died within a 24 hour period.

I know 4 people that contracted Covid 19. All 4 were gainfully employed and one was an ER Doctor. Sadly 1 of the 4 died.

I notice with some amusement, that the annual Sturgis motor cycle rally kicked off recently in S.Dakota. Expected numbers to attend 250,000.
That is a lot of obese people - 80% with underlying health conditions, probably - all having a ball and all doing it with zero social distancing and the only masks on view, bandannas to keep the sons-of-anarchy vibe going.

The money this event generates for the town (pop 6,500) is staggering. Imagine how many litres of gas they sell.

This is where America excels. Beautiful hedonistic excess. And if you just ignore the people - perfectly possible - the country is one of the most beautiful to travel through, as you immerse in natures perfect creations.

And the food. Imagine being in a restaurant in S.Dakota, with a Flat-iron 12 ounce steak, with two eggs,sunny-side centred on top,a basket of golden deep fried potato wedges and a side salad on it's own dinner plate. Nicely accompanied with a glass beaded with condensation, full to the brim with golden ice cold beer and a foamy head...

And if the view out the window is a few parked-up custom Harley's...so much the better

What was the ethnicity of the unfortunate young lad in Georgia as it may be relevant.

As relevant as the unmentioned relevance to the Preston stat I guess.

As , like Leicester, Birmingham , Blackburn/Darwin etc there is a reluctance to admit certain stuff publicly.

Are we allowed to say Blackburn or should we say Bameburn...and what advice can the Bible give us when certain words when mixed with other words become uncertain companions so to speak.

And why do certain people frown when the ace of spades is bandied about. It's the highest value card in the deck and is pictorially represented with ornate flourishes to indicate it's uniqueness.

Why are some people who write in the media thicker by some order of magnitude than the audience they are writing for.

Questions...

We're suffering up here in North Wales with another spike. A place called Rowan foods being the epicentre. It seems around 40 people tested positive, they didn't shut the factory and it all went to hell in a handcart after that. Initially they couldn't trace 300 staff members because they were all agency staff. Turns out the vast majority are of Eastern European descent, living in HMOs, working 2 jobs - mainly food delivery drivers, car sharing, partying, drinking, socialising and basically paying no attention to social distancing guides/laws. (Not only the Eastern European I must admit, we've plenty of local fuckwits who are exactly the same.)

The upshot being our local hospital ended up very nearly collapsing - despite what the Welsh government may say. I have family and friends who work at the hospital and I believe them when they say it was utter chaos. The powers that be were putting infected patients in wards with non infected ones and wondering why the fucking rate of infection went up! Suffice to say after a significant number of avoidable deaths an investigation looks imminent, as does the number of incoming law suits.

People still just aren't getting it. It's NOT the fucking flu, it IS dangerous no matter what your age or ethnic group and the longer people fuck about moaning and whinging about face masks, social distancing and their "rights" the longer this fucking virus is going to hang about. If this was a country where social obedience was adhered to rather than ignored and treated as a form of uber communism we'd have been through this by now.

As it stands I reckon it's going to get a lot, lot worse over the coming weeks and months. A fair proportion of blame lands squarely at the feet of the government, due to their hand wringing, conflicting opinions and reluctance to meet this thing head on with a clear and intelligent plan of attack, but the great British people must also shoulder a lot of the responsibility for this utter fucking mess due to a lot of them basically being thick, thoughtless, selfish fucking cunts.

Like the pictures of the south coast beaches completed covered by people. Why do they do it,in what way is that fun.

And why are they allowed to do it. Is it not possible to close the beaches or just lock down the south coast during hot weather.

I'm not sure where the government's emphasis is.They are good at distributing staggering amounts of money around but their record of competency is woeful. That might be because leadership starts at the top.

And in Boris's first 10 weeks as leader he managed to lose his first six commons votes, broke the law by suspending Parliament and misled the monarch. Sets the tone and demonstrates contempt for democracy. When you then surround yourself with a generation of swine and weak swine as well, it makes it really difficult to do anything well. And we are seeing this perfectly demonstrated week by week and month by month.

That unsympathetic assessment doesn't mean the whole enterprise is doomed, but it is a sure lot easier to make things better if your competent to begin with.

Your last line is exactly the reason this thing is gonna spike again.
Mentioned before the amount of mask wearers wearing incorrectly and the non mask wearers. Did you know you are exempt from having to wear a mask if you're tired or have headaches. Those reasons amongst many others. So clearly these conditions are far worse than catching covid aren't they ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah we fucked up...rest of the world has it sussed...every where else in the world has it under control...and we're gonna be
wiped out.....

Boris and his mates will crawl out of their Bunker....and flog the UK to the States for 500 Billion....happy days.....

Seriously tho, it is what it is...it's doing exactly the same everywhere...we're no better or worse than anywhere else....
Taking it all in, I'd say doing slightly better than most....seems like we are one of the only countries putting true stats
up....in fact with a little legal tweaking could make them seem a lot better....

Take a look around whats going on...why should we be immune from it....knocking on up to 2,000,000 new cases a week,
Worldwide and 6500 deaths a day ,which is easily nearer 10,000...and it maybe it hasn't peaked yet...it slows and picks
up again.....fuck knows where it's going at the moment....some countries have no way of containing it adequately...
so it will keep moving on....

We're doing the best we can with this shit of a thing...and all the Press/Media...Plenty of so called "Experts"
Scientific and Medical etc....and a whole bunch of Talking Heads on the TV interviews...is Slag the Country/Government
off....................AGAIN..........
