I gave my email address for a half-marathon for the elderly in the Summer once lockdown finishes.

I was about to donate £20 but decided instead to run as I reckon I can win it.

Apparently door to door charitable collections are alive and well in our fair town. A neighbour of mine told me that only yesterday he answered the door to be greeted by a lady collecting for a local old people's home. Without any thought for herself my neighbour immediately offered the collector her elderly mother and for good measure threw in her zimmer frame as well. A commendable , selfless gesture I felt. We need more public spirited people like that.
