That's almost like an exclamation point on the loss of the generation that lived and fought through the second World War.

I remember when I was a lad you could still listen to men who'd fought in the Great War. Now they're all long gone.

For younger generations there's a disconnect between the most defining events of the 20th century and themselves.
It lessens the impact not hearing of the suffering, stoicism, terror, bravery, horror and courage first hand. Respect for those sacrifices becomes just lip service. It's all very sad.
Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.
