West Ham vs Burnley Official Match Thread

Following our very disappointed boring loss against struggler Swansea which I am furious with the players that has no desired and effort.

I am fully expected the match against Burnley to be massively improved and a big win is long over-due. I can't see that at the moment and hopefully all our training coaches will kick the players arses for poor showing last week. We are at the barebone in defence with Byram and Reid out for the rest of the season. Hopefully Ogbonna will get fit.

Greatly pleased with that introduction Ibbs and you nicely suggest Mr Moyes might not be adequate.

This will be an interesting contrast of approaches.

Burnley will have probably studied our recent performances and spent the week training on taming our formidable strengths.

Whereas,we,because we are West 'Am, will be relying on our off-the-cuff virtuosity,the West Ham way,blind luck,shots in the dark and the iconic stadium atmosphere for shock and awe...

Which leaves me concluding - Burnley are fucked. A solid home win for us.

I think we need to go to a back 4. We aren't strong enough in midfield so need more numbers in there.

Marios best position is right side so swap him and Lanzini over, not a bad set up

I want to see us revert to 4 at the back , and instead of putting 9 behind the ball actually try and play football , doesnt have to be all out attack . No denying we are a very unbalanced team with Zabaleta/Evra on the flanks in a back 3 and our lack of a tackler/passer in midfield . Would prefer another RB/LB but we dont have any others a ball playing CB would also be nice , maybe a more experienced deep lying DM (Carvalho) . So for me , cant see Moyes even contemplating this system or selection .

One thing Moyes must do is put Kouyate in defense for his height otherwise it will be set piece paradise for them.

As good as we could possibly put out and correct formation as well.

Need pace and bit of ariel threat up top and you have got that.

Also Arnie coming from a bit deeper after building up a head of steam and Antonio hopefully keeping a couple of defenders busy could see him flourish .

Need to be at it from the off.
