Fucking scary. England fans love a beer and a singsong and are targeted by the police everywhere they go because of the past history. Too much grog, heavy handed cops and it kicks off. Flags of St George in the papers next morning.
Now this lot. Obviously ex and serving military, conscripts, and a criminal element who don't seem to give a fuck. The Russian police are going to turn a blind eye when, and it seems certainly, the shit hits the fan. It will be the poor bastards who are on the fringes of the crowd, just following their team who get bashed and looking at these videos maybe killed. And guess what? England fans, next morning, will be all over the papers getting the blame again.
I'd be giving this one a wide berth and leaving all colours and flags at the airport.
Just like my dreams they fade and die.
But on the positive side..............

The hooligan issue with the Russians is scary However Russia should not have a major sporting event given the recent state sponsored drugs news. There are also their human rights issues. FIFA always have a standby for emergencies normally England or a country who has been a recent host and has the infrastructure so take it away from the Ruskies

There could be a country wide civil war going on and FIFA would still insist there's no chance of violence happening.

Have no idea why anyone would want to go to Russia for the World Cup
Fucking horrible weren't it mate, to be fair to a lot of fans up 1 of the alley ways coming off the marina, they put up a hell of a fight against them, once the Russians were penned into a alley way they couldn't attack in the way they were in the open and a few of them copped a few chairs and tables coming their way but overall it was a bloodbath. I saw a youngster out there with his girlfriend, just drinking and suddenly saw him, sat down, looking dazed with blood streaming out his nut, felt so sorry for him and his mrs.

Luckily in the ground we was at the other end to where the Russians were, saw them make a move though, horrible cunts. They say on that programme that they based themselves on the English hooligan but as bad as they were, they did have a code of conduct where they'd only go for each other, these cunts aim for anyone standing in their way and will happily kick a man in their head when he's on the floor.
Mental mate. In the stadium near the full time whistle when they let off the flares and then just started charging towards the England fans, chasing them down the turnstiles. Pretty scary stuff tbh. Like you, i was opposite their fans, so wasn't involved in it, but was hard to witness
