The word probably doesn't bother me. There are no definites in football. The fact he mentions that he is player of the year and praises the club, staff and fans says so much. He knows what he means to us and I'm sure that means a lot to him.

He has to be here next season, and I think he will.

* He is on a long term contract
* The manager, the players and the fans wants him to stay
* By all accounts he looks like he is enjoying playing here
* We do not need the money
* No money would be able to buy an equally good player
* The club is moving to a brand new stadium and all things point towards the club being "on the up"

The thing is, West ham isn't viewed the same way buy the outsiders who are claiming "Payet is tood good for West Ham" and that "After the Euros he is bound to sign for a big CL team".

Truthfully he probably is too good for us, or rather.. what we have been. Especially outside of England, West Ham is viewed as an average sized club and an average sized team. Non fans haven't experienced last season in the same way. They aren't reading the chairmants statement and they aren't watching interviews with the manager and other players. To them, West Ham is a club that usually hovers around mid table and yo-yo's down into the Championship every once in a while. And that's why they think when they see Payet performing the way he currently is in the euros: "why is he playing for West Ham?"

---

That said there is of course no certainty he won't leave. But as of now there is nothing pointing towards that other than people thinking "it's pure logic that a big team will snap him up".

You cut the piece where he goes on to say he's a big fan of Walt Disney.

And last night i made sure i was able to watch the france game because he was playing but England....... i look for things to do so i dont watch them !!!!!!And if a silly money offer comes in for him and we take it i will be so gutted but life moves on and its better we had him for a season than never had him at all i suppose

Fingers crossed his age counts against a big move
Great news.......Real Madrid have opened talks with Paul Pogba's agent. Given his age I think this makes perfect sense and is a better option for them than Payet so every big name going to Real is less chance of Dimi leaving.

I agree, even Madrid cant afford to do this deal then sign Payet for £50m plus £200k p/w
