Part of me was delighted by the apparent upturn in performance last Monday ( I didn’t see the game) and hoping that David has turned it around yet again .

The rest of me feels a combination of certain things ..

We are away from home
Everton still rank as one of our bogey teams despite improvements in our record vs them in recent years .
Everton being David’s former club he will really really really want to avoid defeat in this one .

So , it’ll be one of two things .
Yet another Moyes renaissance with another stunning display ….
Or Moyes shitting himself and reverting to type .

What’ll it be ? Answers on a postcard.
Tbh at the risk of pissing on the fireworks I didn't think the performance against Brentford was particularly good. Brentford were absolute crap and it wouldn't surprise me if they went down this season tbh. The two players they have got in their side who I thought might cause us problems, Toney and Reguilon, were poor and they offeref next to nothing, but we still managed to concede two goals.

Our game management was, as usual, pretty awful and instead of holdinbg on to the ball consisted of a mighty welly upfield only for it to come straight back. One4 thing does puzzle me. Why on earth would anyone want to see Thomas Frank appointed as our next manager ? He is even more "Motesball" than the original an d has even copied the Pulisesque theme of launching long throws into the box at every opportunity. Perhaps that's what som e people see as "progressive". If they don't go this season they will next after Toney is sold on and Reguilon returns to his parent club.

Not expecting a feast oif football thios afternoon tbh and if someone offered me a draw right now I think I'd bite their hand off. The optimist in me is saying 0-0 but the reaist is warning me that, as we showed against Brentford, we are more than capable of conceding. Hope Areola maintains his form for this one as I have a feeling we may need him.
