Not much chance of that happening after losing their opening game they were expected to beat.
Hopefully they will be OUT sooner the better.
Don't want to piss on your fireworks Ibbs but did you realise that, just the same as in the World Cup and the Euros they can still go through if they finish third ? ;)

And I hope it wasn't you who had a pop at Chris Hughton in the team hotel the other day.

Will see how Ghana goes and if they go through 3rd place, hope they will be out in knock-out stage or last 8.

Kudus just scored a great goal to go 1-0 , with Salah gone off injured.
UPDATE
Kudus just scored again to go 2-1 up. Must be worth £70M now? :D

2-2 Ghana defence threw it away.

Haven't seen a lot of it tbh but from what I have some of our referees and linesmen need to take a long hard look at their compatriots doing the business out there. From what I've seen the refs are a few steps above the quality of the shit we watch every week. Low bar I admit, but I did enjoy it when Salah went nose to nose with the ref in the Ghana v Egypt match and got back as good as he was giving. Thought the ref was going to hang one on him at one point.

Ghana 2-0 up and again threw it away in the last few minutes, so only 2 points instead of four and coming home. Al least Kudus ok and on a plane home to us very soon. :)

Injury time drama in the final group games in Kudus group.

At 90 mins Ghana were 2-0 up and going through in 2nd place. Egypt were drawing 1-1.

Both games had 2 goals in injury time, both finished 2-2.

Ghana finish third. They might qualify as one of the best third places but it seems unlikely.

Ah …beaten to it by DD

4 best 3rd place teams still go through so I think still depends on the remaining games

I was unaware of that. I thought that it would’ve followed the same format as past World Cups.

Having said that, there are already two groups where the third placed team has surpassed the two points that Ghana has amassed.

And of the remaining three groups, it’s likely that another two groups at least will have a third place team with a higher amount of points.

Cameroon beat Gambia and Algeria beat or draw with Mauritania, and our boy will be home within 24 hours of the final whistle.
