Europa league table confusion

Is it me or is there something wrong with our Europa league table, it shows us top and I also heard Geo say we was top yesterday. Us 2 at the top are both on 9 points but our goal difference was +3 compared to +7 and also we have less goals for. Therefore why are we not 2nd, what am i missing please somebody put me out of my misery

I think I read it's because we beat them earlier

So if that's correct-if your on the same points as another team it comes down to your head to heads rather than goal diff ???
