Stupid comment. We were saying this before VAR, VAR was meant to correct the errors.
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

You do have a point there mate. Shocking as the decisions , because it wasn't just our game was it, were on Saturday I have no sympathy for Moyes, Howe and all the other managers who have been stiffed by VAR since it's introduction. If they looked at themselves occasionally when their teams have had a spanking instead of looking to blame some other cunt maybe it wouldn't have had to be introduced in the first place. Who was it first said be careful what you wish for ?

FFS the poor old onfield referee has to make a decision based on what he sees in real time. Now his decision is reviewed over and over, with cameras from different angles, in slow motion, with freeze frames and fuck knows what else and, after several minutes the soppy cunt with all the technology overturns the original decision which proves to have been correct all along.

It's funny though, now Dermot Gallagher is bringing up the fact that a ref was supposed to stop the game in the penalty area if he thinks the keeper is seriously injured. 1: The fact he didn't either means he's not up to date with the guidelines or he obviously didn't think that was the case.

Now if there wasn't VAR he could hardly look for another excuse to scrub the goal. Now with VAR either will still make him look incompetent.

Now we got the FA pretending to go through the motions.

It is not VAR that is the problem, it is the poor standard of Referees using it.

I Europe they don’t have the issues we do, they must be laughing their bollocks of at us.

That cunt Riley has a lot to answer for, as he is the one who has created these useless no thinking refs.

Of course it's the poor standard of referees using the bloody thing. Why else can it take often in excess of 3 minutes to clear up a supposed "clear and obvious error". A clear and obvious error---note the words Mr Riley---should be resolved in seconds. And, as always, the referees are a protected species. Much could be learned if the referees and VAR operators responsible for the three outrageous decisions this weekend could be questioned afterwards to establish the thinking behind their decisions.

That’s your problem, Mike Riley had taken the thinking out of it, and has made them robots.

It seems to be an obsession amonmg referees in this country to become part of the show, instead of someone who is in the background. Whenever I watch European games, either in UEFA competitions or in other domestic leagues the same mindset doesn't seem to be at work.

I remember Riley as a referee. A finger wagging little numpty who made damn sure everyone knew he was running the show. Not surprising that he has, apparently, instructed his VAR minions to find ways whereby they can illustrate their importance to the game taking place.

Well Rice and Moyes escaped punishment for their verbal contribution, however there's still the decision of Moyes visit to the refs dressing room pending.
