I just think with the injuries mounting up and lack of squad investment,it won't be the promising season it could have been.Has long as the owners are happy,aye.

Having a look at our fixtures and only 2 more mid-week games, a lot depend on our injuries situation and a lots of tougher games between top 6 and bottom 6. My only disappointment that we didn't get a striker back-up and Defensive Midfielder as well.

Our 8 remaining home matches with:

Arsenal - 0 point as we don't have good record against them and Moyes has poor record of top 6 side.
Chelsea - 0 point as they got new manager, new belief and more tougher to beat or even a draw
Everton - 1 point as they are a stubborn side..
Leeds - 3 points as they are the most open play team and could be entertaining attacking match
Leicester - 1 point as they are strong with Maddison, Ndidi and Vardy..
Sheffield Utd - 3 points as this match as expected a scrappy match and lots of bumps and ooft!
Southampton - 3 points as they are dipped in form and virtually nothing to play for.
Tiittingham Cockspurs - 1 point as they are strong side

Total points 12 points from 8 games seemed reasonable BUT could be less if we have lots of injuries and striker shortage..

Our 7 remaining away matches with:

Brighton - 1 point if we can hold them like Villa did but moreless 0 point as Brighton is our bogey team.
Burnley - 1 point as they are scrapping for points but they will stay up and hopefully nothing to play for by the time we meet them.
Man City - 0 point as they will walloped us 5-0!
Man Utd - 0 point as they will have Fernandez from the start and Lingard will be in-eligible.
Newcastle - 1 point as they will be scrapping for point, may take 3 points if we have Ogbonnna and Antonio 100% fit.
WBA - 1 point as 0-0 is written all over it.
Wolves - 1 point as they want to improve their position.

Total points - 5 points, could be less or more depending on our injuries front and other teams injuries front and f*cking ref that cost us a few bob!

Total points to collect altogether - 17 points added to the 39 we collected to make 56 which is 8th position on average. Could be more or less much depend on injuries......I would be please if we get at least 20 points plus from our remaining 15 games.

Fuck knows. But if anyone had said to me at the start of the season that mid February we'd be a point behind Liverpool with a game in hand I'd have assumed they'd been on some seriously strong stuff.

Being a West Ham fan for many years I'm accustomed to the wheels coming off at regular intervals, and since Tuchel came in at Chelsea I'm more hopeful that my pre season bet might get a second wind than I am of us finishing top 6 but for a change the team keep giving me nice surprises instead of the usual sort. So fingers crossed.

But for some reason I'm dreading the game on Monday. I guess it's my natural pessimism when it comes to West Ham issues.

Agree. We are a good side. When the recognised starting line up are all fit. But imo we are short on depth. So where we finish will be decided by how many injuries we suffer. And we’ve lost one of our key players for a lengthy period already.
