Newmarket wrote: Tue Feb 02, 2021 9:09 am If you had to pick a season where a club like West Ham United might stand a chance of challenging for a European spot then you probably couldn’t ask for a better season than this one.

David Moyes has done a truly magnificent job with the players at his disposal. He’s got the Hammers playing like a proper team for the first time since, hmmmm let me see, 15/16? Our last at the Boleyn? That ground we gave up for the London Stadium in what someone once described as “the most successful migration in history”. You remember the place, the one we traded for “a world class team in a world class stadium”. Yeah, of course you do.

And yet, in what is arguably the season to achieve real progress for a club like West Ham United, once again GSB’s running of our club ensures we fall short of our potential.

As yet another transfer window closes, it’s the same old story. Linked with every player under the sun and we finish up with one loan midfielder coming in and our only genuine striker being sold for half what we paid for him. The positions we’ve needed to bolster for years (yes, years) are still not addressed. The question is, why?

Could it be that David Moyes has not identified a single position that needed filling?

Could it be that he did but he couldn’t find any players, anywhere in the world, that could fill them?

I don’t believe either of these to be true.

Could it be that Moyes did identify both the positions and the players but GSB refused to stump up the money? You can put your answers on a great big flag as soon as Covid is over and Hammers United get thousands out on the streets again.

Six months ago Hammers United highlighted the fact that although David Sullivan had publicly announced a £40m transfer budget, we ended up selling Grady Diangana, Jordan Hugill and Albian Ajeti, sending Filipe Anderson out on loan. We signed Vladimir Coufal for £5.4m and Said Benrahma on a loan with an option to buy. We also consolidated the signing of Tomas Soucek. And they were all brilliant signings.

But the business that needed doing, if we were to show any real ambition, was neglected by GSB. Just like it’s being neglected again in this transfer window.

Everyone knows we are only a few players short of another relegation battle and yet ironically, with Moyes outperforming all of his critics, we are only a few players short of becoming a genuine threat to the top four clubs.

We have a manager that has fostered a team spirit the likes of which we haven’t seen for a long time. We have the nucleus of a really good footballing side that can challenge the best. We are on the verge of, dare I say it… going to the next level.

But Moyes and the team need the backing of our owners to stand a chance. And that’s where it will all come to a grinding halt. Because GSB won’t do it. They would have done it by now if they actually had a clue what to do. But they haven’t and they don’t.

You really have to ask yourselves what kind of owners would look at the risk versus reward of the opportunity in front of us right now (especially within the context of every promise they ever made when they convinced us that moving from the Boleyn to the LS was for the best) and choose to do nothing?

There is only one answer: GSB.

There is only one solution: GSB OUT

Support The Team Not The Regime
Hammers United

Sorry , couldn’t resist it

There are fans on West Ham fansites, telling us G & S haters to shut up.

They say,Look how well we are doing.Stop the moaning and why are you moaning?..blah blah blah.

They just don't get it,do they?

We are 2 or 3 injuries away from a disaster, because of our transfer business,It infuriates me.Rice and Soucek will need a rest sooner or later. They are burning them into the ground.

It would be wonderful if they could play every game and we went on to do something special...It would be a miracle if we did,but in reality, I know it`s only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down on us in this "Play twice a week,Covid Season".

Each to their own Tel.
Let them think what they want. Anyone whose followed West Ham for any length of time knows exactly what this vermin are and how they operate.
What goes round, comes round mate.
They've had a good run out of our club, but like everything else, all good things come to an end.
Love a cup of Rosey I do.

Two things.

First everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you or I don't agree with it. And on the subject of the moaning it would be nice if the "Moyes outers" were able to offer some ideas as to who might be able to come in and do a better job under the present regime.

Sure Jimbo .

I found it a little bit amusing (at the time) that 2 HU fellas posted the same statement in the first person within seconds of each other so bearing in mind great minds think alike ...

I regret it now though . A moderator should know better .

I gave myself 20 lashes and banned myself for 12 whole hours as punishment .

I feel better now.

I was thinking of posting something similar. I don't think anyone will deny we are punching above our weight, but credit is due to the team, Moyes and his staff for taking the opportunity that has presented itself so far this season with everyone else's inconsistency.

The problem is we are so bare bones that even if completely fit there is no point getting to Europe this year. We do not have the resources to play there and be comfortable in the league at the same time. What we can't do is suddenly panic realizing we have to go to Romania or Slovenia like the past and get in a pile of Tore's, Zaza's, Arbeloa's and Nordveit's of the world. In case we have forgotten, that did not work as we failed to beat Domzale and Astra friggin Googoo!

I like the idea of steady and sure, bring in quality over quantity, strengthen incrementally in at least a couple of positions each window and allow the players we already have like Fredericks, Cresswell, Lanzini etc be back up. But to go through a window doing nothing other than bringing in an unfit cup tied Lingard on loan while shipping out our only recognized striker and others is just pure negligence IMO. It's like passing by a bathroom when out and about once you hit a certain age, pure foolishness as you don't know where the next one will be and there is a high risk of being the subject of a tannoy announcement in Lidl's for a puddle clean up in aisle 12 - or worse - pants round the ankles with large chunks bitten out of the ass cheeks by a rabid dog while you crap yourself behind the fir tree in old Doris' garden. Antonio is going to be unavailable and we will be caught short.

The other thing is, if Moisty is going to crap his panties every time we play a big team and we show up in the not to lose mode, again there is no point being in the competition. Domzale might only be the champions of Slovenia, but they are there on merit and if we get past them they will all be hard games and it won't be long before there will be big teams. Even if we play with the shackles off and do well, we simply do not have the squad to compete in the league next season because we are never going to be able to rectify that in the summer window with the quantity we need we are so short. Look at Burnley & Wolves and their league form.

The only solution is indeed GSB out, they are getting in the way and while Moisty no doubts has faults and shoulders some of the blame for the lack of incomings, having a chairman who supports him to do his thing for the long term and can be trusted to get out the check book when needed is essential to be successful. To not have the vision and acumen to capitalize on the position we find currently ourselves in by strengthening and building proves lack of ambition and they just need to piss off into the sunset immediately and take all the baronesses, pornstars and offspring with them.

Therein lies the problem. Getting to mars is easier.
