I would like to see a whole lot more rested tbh. The fixtures continue to come thick and fast and we've got Palace on Tuesday. And they'll have had a week off as they're out of the cup. Let's throw a few of the supposedly promising kids in and see if they sink or swim. Something like:

If that's the case stick Yarmolenko in as the main striker and play that Appiah-Forson kid.in midfield. Someone on this forum reckons he's worth a shout.

Magic of the cup my granny's arse. When Aston Villa field a youth team, most clubs, including those in the lower leagues, usually chuck in a handful of back ups and kids and, even when fans used to be allowed in (remember that ?), rows of empty seats in view, it's becoming fairly clear no one is really interested in it until it reaches the final stages.

Back in the day the cup was a big deal. Tickets for the final were as rare as rocking horse shit unless you knew someone who knew someone who could get hold of them. Not any more.
