Gerry Marsden RIP

Post by deanox »

This a bit of stretch as Gerry never played Football, but sang one of the most iconic football songs and even if you don't like the bin dippers, seeing them at Anfield sing that before the game was always a great sight.

As a foot note I remember us getting spanked at Anfield (as usual) and us singing all the Beatles songs, that was a blast and far better than our teams performance.

Fair enough and agreed, very iconic song known all over the world. But when my Aunt chose the Elvis version to be played at my Nans funeral in June 2006 I’ve detested it ever since. I wouldn’t have minded so much if she even liked Elvis, or Liverpool.

RIP Gerry though
