Don't panic - relax. David Moyes is not risking the first XI in this fixture. The top talent will all be rested.
Squad players only and a bit of barrel scraping from the likes of:
D.Randolph
B.Johnson
A.Masuaku
F.Balbuena
G.Cardoso
J.Wilshere
C.Coventry
J.Cullen
R.Snodgrass
M.Lanzini
P.Anderson
X.Silva
How will they get on ? A solid ordinary 3-0 home win and another round in a competition that nobody wants

Why wouldn't we want another round in a competition ? anyway Moyes has a chance to play his favoured RB Leipzig model against Charlton , unless he reverts to kind and would be far to worried and cautious to change anything .
Like you I have added some youth and experience , We are short of left sided players up front so in comes Anderson , maybe he can actually have one good game this season , show the youngsters what we paid all that money for .

That's bloody optimistic against a league 1 side
.
In reality we should be able to beat them , Moyes is the man , so I keep hearing .

Well winning is what he does.
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

A cup no one gives a rat’s arse about apparently, but if we were to lose, we’d carry on like we’d lost a limb...
... so which one is it?
Personally, I’d like to win the fucking thing, and will be mildly disappointed when we inevitably exit.
