I will come out and say a few wanted either Rice or Soucek dropped , with a change of selection/tactics against Fulham , ( I was one of them as well ) but had nothing to do with Souceks ability as a box to box midfielder or Rices ability as a DM . It was more about getting another attacker with some creativity in midfield against one of the weaker teams in the league .
Didn’t Soucek just play a bit deeper against Fulham to allow cresswell to get further forward and try get more crosses into Haller to make him more effective? Just asking
