Well deserved indeed.

On a side note, how is it the Declan Rice did not make the list of nominees for young player of the year?

Anthony Martial is 24 years old..How is that young? He has actually been playing professional Football for 8 years and been a full French International 5 years..Grealish has been playing 7 years..

Young player of the Year is surely about a youngster making an impression in his first or 2nd season, not a fella who is nearly 25 and been playing 8 years.?

Declan Rice’s glaring omission aside , it really is no surprise.

The “nominee’s” chosen by Tag Heuer , a Manchester United sponsor , have to be 23 years old or younger at the start of the season (literally a year ago).

Which explain the 3 Manure nominees .

The others make up the numbers , Henderson’s and Grealish’s inclusion there to “prove” there’s no Sky 6 bias.

Alexander-Arnold the token victim inclusion as it would be strange having a list that didn’t include a title winner.

The winner will be decided by a public vote AND the PL Awards “panel”.

Do it doesn’t REALLY matter how the voting goes does it ?

We know the result already.

Imo the only awards worth winning are the ones voted on by fellow players.

I totally agree. However, the qualifying criteria is apparently as follows:

The Professional Footballers' Association Young Player of the Year is an annual award given to the player aged 23 or under at the start of the season who is adjudged to have been the best of the season in English football.

Only this isn’t the PFA young player of the year award is it ?

Well deserved.....he is everything needed in the Premier league these days....explosive pace, power and an eye for goal. Has really improved under Moyes like Arnie did before him. If his technique was a little better he would be a top 4 player but its good enough for us. He really bullies opposition players

Definitely worthy of the award and our player of the season.
