That's a great way to reward the filthy bat-eating cunts who started it all isn't it.

And no doubt the PL won't do much to discourage such a preposterous idea seeing as it will save them a king's ransom of a payment to Sky and BT.

The ONLY way is to void the season and do what the Belgians have done. Give the Dippers the title ? I don't give a fuck tbh, but no-one's catching them.

No relegations, which avoids a squeaky bum time for us, not that we deserve it given the clusterfuck of cock-ups made this season, and promote Leeds and the Baggies. Do away with the Micky Mouse cup (hopefully permanently) to get extra games played in a 22 team league then relegate 5 teams at the end of the 20/21 season.

As for teams hoping to get promoted via the play-offs ?

Tough. But desperate times call for desperate measures. To even think of starting up again when there's even the smallest threat of the virus coming out for round 2 is reprehensible and born out of immense greed at a time when thousands are struggling to even put food on the table.
How are you going to handle Fulham's lawsuit?

Through the new Emergency Powers Act 2020.

An act that orders any action deemed irrelevant by the government in a time of crisis from a party or parties that is not solely brought by the claimants to be for the good of the nation to go and fuck themselves.

Agree the season should be voided but imo void should mean void. You make a good point about Liverpool but Leeds and West Brom could still be caught. And why, if we're going to promote 2, don't we relegate 2 as well?

Whatever happens some people are going to be mightily pissed and I can still see lawsuits flying around ad nauseum. But the season has to be declared null and void. At the moment I'm reading that it seems unlikely NEXT season will start when it is supposed to, so any pushing back dates to finish the present one is just going to cause absolute chaos.

Best thing they could do IMO is void this season now and start making plans for the next one ----whenever it starts. And there's a World Cup scheduled for 2022 so UEFA should probably be thinking of kicking the Euro 2020 (now 2021) competition into touch because there are going to be World Cup qualifiers to sort out.

This break is going to go two ways...

Those whose life the game takes lots of time of will either realise it's not worth it OR are going so up the wall they will throw even more at it.

Sadly I'm in the latter...and wanted to be in the other group.

Mad eh 😀

Fulham being promoted over Leeds is for the good of the nation 😁

No new cases my arse. I do not believe a word or figures coming out of the Country I'm afraid.
We believed it when it all kicked off there, so why do we choose not to believe it now ? Fucked if anyone outside Wuhan knows the figures but where would be the upside of giving out deliberately false information ? At this stage people are hardly going to say "Oh well, that's all right, we can all go to China again", are they ?
Simply because it is a regime not renowned for its transparency or honesty when divulging information from within it's realm. We now understand that Covid-19 broke earlier than they admit, with significantly higher numbers. Hence therefore my reluctance to believe wholeheartedly what that administration says.

What a jolly fine and practical solution Sir.

It's become a dog's breakfast. So many suggestions, no answers.

I know of one club who are within a week of folding unless a proposal is agreed and a plan can be put in place. But how can it ? Imagine a scenario of restarting the season behind closed doors, but then after one round of games, someone somewhere in a squad develops the virus.

The whole squad would have to be in quarantine for 14 days. Along with their opponents. During a period of attempting to cram all remaining games into a four-week period. So it's back to square one.

The desperation of the PL to avoid the possibility of paying Sky and BT north of 700 million to honour their agreement puts money before lives. Does anyone honestly think that on the day the victims could win the title, thousands of scousers would simply stay at home with a nice cup of tea rather than congregate outside whatever stadium the inevitable happened ? It would be against the law. But when has the average scouser ever bothered about such minor technicalities ?

The Messiah, peace be upon him, has said it would take four weeks to get our band of brothers fit and raring to go, but he concedes he'd get three at best. And we're not alone in that. Legally, Tomas Soucek could just walk away on June 30th. And that's just West Ham. There are many more in the PL. And half of the players in leagues 1 and 2 are out of contract then.

July 12th is the cut-off date for the PL avoiding the pay-off. But common sense is needed. And where huge sums of money are concerned that's in very short supply.

Every day now the government are, along with releasing the latest grim figures, saying the upward curve is flattening. That may be so. But when is safe really safe ?

The leagues HAVE to be voided so football knows where it stands.

Give the victims the title ? Don't care.

Relegate the bottom three as it stands ? Likewise.

Promote Leeds and the Baggies with a 22 team league next season ? Ditto.

The fact is, football comes a distant finisher in the race to get back to normal and it's about time the so-called powers that be in the game realise it.
