Didn't remember him play unfortunately but guessed when I saw the thread title that was going to be the news.

I'm guessing he was maybe with is early 70s?!

I was there the night in 1989 when he scored 2 against Sunderland. I knew he'd had a cancer scare.

RIP

Rip Eamonn,
Think he was only 50 Porterman.

Really sad news this, I remember watching him as well. 48 is no age at all. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
Who the fuck is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?

he was 48 and had cancer for a while but while he was not a superstar player, he played at the same time as Stuart Slater et al....a great era for the club and I remember him sounding like really nice guy. Was assistant and youth coach at Reading and highly rated.....so sad !

Sad news.I remember him playing for us when I was in my teens.Never became a regular first team player!
I thought he survived cancer in his 20s but iam not 100 % sure! And then moved on to Exeter?

Remember the 5-0 win over Sunderland in 1989.

You won`t see a better 5 Goals(2 by Dolan) by one team in a game.

RIP Eamonn
